Understanding kidney stones
Kidney stones form when minerals and salts crystallise in the urine. They can stay in the kidney or move into the ureter, where they may cause sudden severe pain, blood in the urine and sometimes infection.
Not every stone needs surgery. Smaller stones often pass with medication and fluids, while larger or stuck stones may need an endoscopic procedure. The aim is always the least invasive option that works.

Common questions
Still unsure? Send your question on WhatsApp and the team will guide you.
Will I need surgery?
Not always. Many smaller stones pass with medication and fluids. A procedure is advised when a stone is large, stuck, infected or causing repeated pain.
How long is recovery after laser treatment?
It depends on the procedure and your health. Many ureteroscopic procedures are planned as day-care or short-stay, and your doctor will explain what to expect for your case.
Can stones come back?
Yes, stones can recur. Hydration, dietary changes and follow-up tests where needed can lower that risk.
